Applied Behavior Center for Autism announces transportation services and growth expansion due to rise in Autism diagnosis in the state.

Applied Behavior Center of Indiana for Autism is a private, non-profit organization that serves children ages 3 years and older dedicated solely to the treatment of children with Autism. The center serves children and families with Indiana by using 1:1 ratios to allow for increased individualized instruction for each child. The Applied Behavior Center’s certified and trained staff work with children up to eight hours a day on communication, social, behavioral, and academic skills in order to build brighter futures.

Sherry Quinn, President of the Center states, “Our transportation services allow for our parents to spend less time traveling to and from our center and allow us to provide additional time with their child in everyday life skills situations. This service gives our parents a little less stress in juggling their daily work schedule knowing their lives already have significant challenges. This is one more added benefit to our Center for our families.”

The Applied Behavior Center currently serves over 40 children with Autism. The Center utilizes research and proven based techniques to provide the latest Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to their students.

The Applied Behavior Center has committed to serve the increasing rates of Autism in the State of Indiana. The Center will provide around an additional 3,000 square feet by the beginning of 2010. “Our growth as doubled for the last four years based on quality services. As the prevalence of Autism increases we need to continue to grow to fit the needs of each individual child with Autism and their families, Kyle Mitchell states, Licensed Special Education Teacher at the Center.

Autism is the world’s fastest growing developmental disability. Autism typically strikes children during their first three years of life. Autism impacts the normal development of the brain in areas of cognition, social impairments and communication skills. The national average of Autism is now 1 in 91 where as a year ago it was 1 in 150 children. Indiana is ranked 5th in the US with the highest incidence of Autism. Indiana’s rate is 1 in 101 who have and Autism diagnosis.
