Therapists
The Applied Behavior Center currently employs over 40 full time therapists who have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in psychology or education. In addition, all therapists have at least 6-12 months of prior experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We have this minimum qualification, because we believe that in order to provide the highest quality service to our students and their families, we must have the highest qualifications. Thus, we have the highest qualifications for therapists in the state of Indiana. In fact our therapist meet or exceed the qualifications listed within Indiana State Law 460 IAC 1.1-5-4 and 460 IAC 1.1-3-9.
Current Openings:
Two Full Time ABA Therapists to work with elementary aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, providing high quality, research based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), specifically Verbal Behavior (VB). The position is paid commensurate with experience for the Summer College Internship
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in either education or psychology. In addition, at least 6-12 months of experience working with children with Autism and/or at least 6-12 months in the field of ABA and/or Verbal Behavior is preferred. Full Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance available and salary is commensurate with education and experience.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS: The ABA Therapist job consists of four levels, which are distinguished by the complexity of assigned duties, the depth of accountability, the expertise required to perform assigned duties and the responsibility assigned for providing leadership to others.
Level I: Code: LI Salary Band: A
This is the basic level where new therapists perform beginning level professional work as an ABA therapist and develop their technical skills while assisting in or performing various ABA therapy treatments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of the principles, practices, and ethics of professional ABA therapy; of therapeutic techniques and their application; and of the materials used in ABA therapy programs. Ability is required to use therapeutic equipment and materials; to evaluate various skills and abilities; to administer prescribed treatments or conduct planned activities; to interpret medical plans; to establish effective working relationships with others; and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Preferred Education and Experience requirements at this level include either a bachelor's degree in psychology or education, experience with children autism and/or experience with ABA/Verbal Behavior. $14 to $16/hr $32,000 to $35,000 annual income
Level II: Code: LII Salary Band: B
This is the career level where incumbents perform all duties of an ABA therapist at the full performance level. The incumbent will assume a lead role in assessment, program planning and implementation. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of the principles and practices of professional ABA therapy; of therapeutic techniques and their application to ABA therapy; of standardized treatments prescribed for various conditions; of the procedures to evaluate various skills and abilities; and of the supplies, materials and equipment used in conducting ABA therapy programs.
Ability is required to use therapeutic equipment and materials; to evaluate various skills and abilities; to administer prescribed treatments and conduct planned activities; to interpret Individual Treatment Plans (ITP); to establish effective working relationships with others; to effectively communicate both orally and in writing; to exercise initiative and independent judgment; and to mentor ABA therapy students during field work experience. Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of those identified in Level I plus one year of professional experience as a licensed ABA Therapist;(or abilities can be tested) or an advanced level Bachelors degree in education, psychology and/or a related field. $16 to $19/hr $35,000 to $40,000 annual income
Level III: Code: LIII Salary Band: C
This is the specialist level where incumbents are assigned responsibilities involving advanced level duties in ABA/VB therapy, supervision, and lead therapist. Incumbents at this level may assume a lead role in evaluation, assessment, program planning and intervention. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include those identified in Level II plus ability is required to assist in ABA therapy treatment plans; supervise, assist in training and to provide duties of higher levels such as mentoring, beginning therapist, etc. Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of those identified in Level II plus additional years of qualifying experience and/or an advanced educational coursework. $19 to $22/hr $40,000 to $45,000 annual income
Level IV: Code: LIV (BCABA, Program Coordinator) Salary Band: D
This is the leadership level where incumbents are assigned responsibility for developing and implementing an ABA therapy program at an assigned location to insure that required treatments and activities are provided to individuals and groups. Positions at this level include therapist team leader and Program Coordinator. This includes direct supervision responsibilities and the coordination of program requirements between units and with other divisions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include those identified in Level III plus ability is required to direct, supervise and evaluate the work of others; to develop ABA therapy programs and plans; and to organize and coordinate ABA therapy activities. Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of those identified in Level III plus additional year(s) of qualifying experience and/or education.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The Applied Behavior Center for Autism requires experience with specified client populations within the last five years and the ability to work with students at multiple functioning levels. $20 to $26/hr $42,000 to $53,000 annual income (Performance Bonus Possible)
