What do we do for you?
The Applied Behavior Center for Autism is the only full service center in Indiana. This means that we complete all the necessary funding authorizations, re-authorizations, and forms. In addition, we submit all the billing forms and handle issues concerning payment mistakes that may arise. These services are provide to our families, so that they can spend more time with their child and less time worry about these issues.

All necessary therapy materials and equipment are provided at no additional cost to students or their families. We also cover the cost of community outings and other socialization activities as well as transportation to the location in one of our buses.

What does the Program Consist of?
The school year program operates from 8:30-4:30 Mondays thru Thursdays, Fridays are from 8:30-3:30 for the children. On these Fridays, the staff holds weekly training sessions and meetings to provide the best continuing service to our clients. Additional afterschool care is available until 5:15 pm on Mondays thru Thursdays at no cost to the family.

In addition, we will assess your child with the A.B.L.L.S-R or the VB-MAAP assessment that covers multiple skill areas including language and communication, socialization, academic, and other developmental areas. We will provide you with the findings of this assessment and create an individual treatment plan that fits your individual child. All of our programs are individualized to each specific child. One of our Master’s or Ph.D level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will work with you, your child, and your child's therapist(s) on a regular basis to ensure that the best program is provided to your child.

In addition, one of our five program coordinators will oversee your child's therapist(s) and your child's program to assure progress, training of therapist(s), and support to the staff and you on an ongoing basis. All students have two therapists, one for the AM session and one for the PM session. This is done to ensure generalization of skills by the student and ensures that at least one of the student’s therapists will be with the child, even if the other therapist may be out sick or on vacation.

Within our program we work on teaching new language skills, which increase communication skills, reduce problematic behavior, increase socialization skills, and academic skills. Our program operates on a 1:1 ratio. We provide and have the highest standards for therapists of any company in the state as all therapists have at least a bachelor’s degree and go through a systematic ABA and Verbal Behavior training program. Additional trainings that all staff posses include First Aid, CPR, Professional Crisis Management (PCM), Social Skills Training, and various other applicable trainings.

At least 30 minutes to an hour a day and snack/lunch times are set up specifically to address social skill development and interaction.

Do I need consultation from an ABA expert?
To be effective, ABA and Verbal Behavior Therapy must be delivered by individuals with extensive training in the methods, under the ongoing supervision of professionals who have had advanced training and experience in ABA principles and methods. All of our programs overseen by one of our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Within our six behavioral staff we have over 80 years of experience.

Beginning a child's Program?
Programs are individualized based on the child’s skill level. Baseline data is taken from the A.B.L.L.S-R assessment or the VB-MAPP, direct observation, past assessments, and input form parents. All of this information is gathered to create an Individual Treatment Plan and Behavior Intervention Plan, if necessary for each child. In addition, a data book is created for each child that tracks their progress during our program. Parental input is essential to develop and maintain a successful program. Input from parents is always welcome and we maintain the understanding that  "A parent will always know their child better than anyone else." In addition, a daily sheet covering what your child did in the areas of sensory, language, academic, social, and behavioral issues are sent home daily.

What are Parents Responsible for?
Each parent will need to bring their own lunch and snack foods, due to any special dietary conditions or allergies. If a child is not fully potty trained, please bring the necessary materials needed and an extra set of clothes.
